THE John Troyer?
I have a feeling that this play, "On the Untimely Death of John Erik Troyer, PhD", at the Bryant Lake Bowl is indeed performed by THE John Troyer (aka the one I've met). Can anyone confirm/deny?

I would assume it's him since a)it's theater and b) the gratuitous use of the PhD in his name. Only Kerry will know for sure, but if there's another John Troyer PhD in the Mpls theater world I'd be shocked.
It is indeed. Our very own John Troyer created a one-man-show based on his dissertation. Seriously. I'll forward you the press release.
Oh, and that picture on the link you posted is John's senior picture. Seriously. Fog machine and all. His parents have it framed on the wall in there house in Hudson, WI. Hilarious.
