my guess was that it was something anti-human, so i guess that was close. i wonder if you can take misanthropology 101?
my understanding of the word is along the same lines as bejota's - a general dislike/distrust of people. the roots of it mean "hate" and "people." i also know a person can be a misanthrope. now you've learned two new words today.
