Sexy stewardesses

I'm reading a somewhat silly article about flight attendants and found 2 funny pix to share. The first, says that in the 60s, stewardesses went from professional career girls to sexy stewardesses, as pictured below:

My question - what freakin plane is that huge on the inside? I've rode on 777 and they don't feel that big. Gosh.

Then, the article starts to talk about advertising being influenced by the sexy stewardess feeling - I like that this ad uses my name:

I think that is a mock plane interior. Not only is the largest widebodt aircraft currently inservice (a boeing 747) not that wide, the 747 was not in service until 1970, but even the early 747's in service were not as wide as this "plane" in the picture. Also, the aircraft's cabin would have most certainly had a convex shape to it and the picture has an aircraft with a very flat ceiling. A tublular structure the size of the aircraft in the image simply did not exist in the 1960's.

By the way, the boeing 747 is actually still wider than a 777. Nice try though.
